This class needs more pre-enrollment by July 1 to get confirmed.
This module is a standing candidate which means it will be ready to launch as soon as it gets enough interest. Token holders can set aside a Token to reserve their seat for class and help it get confirmed.
For this month’s module we will explore the Old English poem Andreas, giving students the opportunity to begin reading and engaging with an OE text in the original language of Anglo-Saxon England.
Together we will explore the foundations of Old English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and translation while also encountering selections from some of the richest works of the period. Students will gain insight not only into the language itself, but also into the culture, history, and literary imagination of early medieval England.
